Unfinished jobs, flagged before tomorrow

At the end of each working day, Build Concierge sends your team one clear list of scheduled jobs not yet marked complete, so open work is easier to catch before tomorrow.

See which jobs are still open before the day closes, not the next morning.

At the end of each working day, Build Concierge checks the jobs scheduled for that day and sends your team one clear list of anything not yet marked complete.

Open jobs can be followed up while engineers and customers can still be reached, so fewer loose ends are left waiting for the next morning.

What is an automated end-of-day job status report?

An automated end-of-day job status report is a Build Concierge workflow for service businesses that manage a busy daily schedule.

At a time you choose, Build Concierge checks the jobs scheduled for that day in your job management system and identifies anything that hasn't yet been marked complete.

Your team receives a single email listing each open job, along with details such as the job reference, customer and current status.

If every job is complete, the report confirms that too, so your team has a clear view of how the day ended in your job management system.

The jobs that get carried into tomorrow unnoticed

At 5.30pm, most of the day's jobs are complete. But a few are still showing as in progress, on hold or scheduled.

One engineer hasn't closed their final visit. Another job is waiting for a part. A third was never attended.

Unless someone works through the schedule job by job, those exceptions can be easy to miss.

They may not be picked up until the following morning. Sometimes they are only noticed when the customer calls asking what is happening.

By then, the engineer has moved on, the details are less fresh and the office is starting the new day by untangling yesterday's work.

How end-of-day job status reports work

What your team does

  1. Schedules and updates jobs as usual.

What Build Concierge does

  1. Starts the check automatically at the time you choose.
  2. Reviews the jobs scheduled for that day in your job management system.
  3. Identifies anything not yet marked complete.
  4. Sends one clear email listing each open job's reference, customer and current status.
  5. Confirms when everything is complete, so your team knows nothing is still recorded as open.

Your team still decides what action to take. Build Concierge makes sure the jobs that may need attention are easier to see.

What this looks like in practice

Illustrative example only, based on a fictional working day.

On a busy Thursday, 42 jobs are scheduled.

At the end of the day, your team receives an email showing three that are still open:

  • One job is still in progress because the engineer hasn't closed the visit.
  • One is on hold while the team waits for a part.
  • One is still scheduled because the engineer didn't attend.

Instead of discovering them the following morning, the coordinator can deal with each one while the day is still fresh.

They contact the first engineer to close the completed visit, confirm the next step for the job waiting on a part and rebook the missed visit with the customer.

The next morning starts with a clear view of what has carried over, rather than a search for what went wrong yesterday.

Set up around the way you work

The report works from the schedule your team already maintains. During set-up, we agree:

  • When the check runs: at the end of the day, at midday, or both.
  • What counts as complete: the statuses that mean a job is finished in your business.
  • Which jobs are included: all scheduled jobs, or specific teams, regions or job types.
  • Who receives it: one report for the whole business, or separate reports for different teams.

Getting set up

Step 1: Talk to us

Tell us how your working day runs, when you currently check for unfinished jobs and who needs to know about them.

Step 2: We build it with you

We configure when the check runs, which statuses count as complete and who receives each report.

Step 3: Test it live

Run it alongside your existing end-of-day process, compare the report with what's happening on the ground and refine the set-up before relying on it.

What changes for your business

Your coordinators

Before: Work through the schedule job by job to find anything unfinished.

  • Now: Receive one clear list of the jobs that may need attention.

Open jobs

Before: Can go unnoticed until the next morning or longer.

  • Now: Can be followed up the same day.

Your customers

Before: May be the first to tell you that something hasn't been resolved.

  • Now: Hear from your team before they need to ask.

The next morning

Before: Starts by working out what happened yesterday.

  • Now: Starts with a clear view of what has carried over and why.

Build Concierge doesn't decide what happens next. It gives your team a clear view of the jobs still recorded as open before the day ends.

Is this right for your business?

This workflow is designed for businesses that:

  • Schedule a high volume of jobs each day
  • Rely on engineers updating job statuses from the field
  • Check the schedule manually at the end of the day, or don't always have time to
  • Want unfinished work identified while engineers and customers can still be reached
  • Want a clearer handover between one working day and the next

It also works well alongside automated stalled job checks, which look beyond today's schedule and flag open jobs that stop progressing over longer periods.

Common Questions

Yes. Reports can be split by team, region or job type, with each one going to the right person.

Yes. It can run at the times that suit your working day, for example at midday and again before close.

No. It reports on the statuses already recorded in your job management system. Your team decides what action to take.

The end-of-day report gives you a snapshot of jobs scheduled for today. Stalled job alerts look across open jobs over time and flag work that has stopped progressing.

The report can confirm that nothing remains open, so your team knows the check has run and there is nothing to follow up.
